2011 Belmont Stakes Profile: Harlan’s Hello

Trainer Doodnauth Shivmangal has a pair of 2011 Belmont Stakes hopefuls and Harlan’s Hello would likely be the longest shot in the field if he starts.

Harlan’s Hello ran into decent sprint rivals like Flashpoint earlier in the year and started to improve as distances increased. He graduated by open lengths over the inner dirt at Aqueduct in March and failed to threaten in his lone graded try.

The 3-year-old son of Harlan’s Holiday dueled and weakened in a disappointing entry level turf try May 1 and rebounded with an optional claiming route win over the Belmont main track May 13.

Harlan’s Hello is a decent allowance-type horse and he earned his best number to date last time but the twelve furlong Belmont Stakes is an ambitious spot to say the least.
